The Philosophy of Medicine Reborn is a collection of essays by Edmund Pellegrino, edited by Engelhardt and Jotterand. I recently sent a copy to Dr Skibitsky but think I may find it interesting myself. The phrase in Pellegrino’s introduction: to reflect philosophically on the realities of healing, helping, curing, comforting, counseling and educating..that’s important beyond the medical profession and the medical focus give a certain concrete specificity that helps, perhaps, in making theological analogies.
