While I expect I would agree with Maggie Jackson’s argument in Distracted: The Erosion of Attention and the Coming Dark Age, does it really warrant a 300+ page book? Seems to me just another justification for a tightly controlled little booklist, in my case:

Revised Standard Bible
   Four Tragedies; Shakespeare
      Dante's Paradise; Tony Esolen
	 Selected Essays; Thomas S. Eliot
            Collected Works; Flannery O'Connor
               Compendium of the Catholic Catechism
Decrees of the Ecumenical Councils 2
            Four Romances; William Shakespeare
         The Confessions; Saint Augustine
      Poetry and Prose; Robert Frost
What Is Truth; John M. Rist
A Parish Book of Chant
