Future Success

If one has children, one can not help but link one’s attitude toward the immediate future to one’s children. What with our daughter Megan Skibitsky a wife, mother and doctor (not three careers but the sort of multitasking career that women can pull off better than men) and our son Daniel a computer scientist with Apple, I can’t help being inclined toward optimism.

Of course, ultimate success relates more to the eternity which the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has put within us via the Holy Spirit and success in the local spacetime’s culture is largely independent of that. Still…

Which reminds me of John Wesley’s wise skepticism about prosperity’s influence on the spread of the Gospel.

Christ, and him crucified.
