On this Respect Life week, and having just come back from the March for Life rally in Washington, the article on Flannery O’Connor’s story A Stroke of Good Fortune at the Black Cordelias blog is particularly interesting. The article and the series in general are a useful introduction to O’Connor’s art.
The Black Cordelias (see blogroll) is a group blog with a certain literary flair (as the Brideshead Revisited allusion in their blog name suggests). Their series Friday’s Flannery, on the short stories of Flannery O’Connor, focuses on the Catholic sensibility of those stories.
The Library of America’s excellent series on America Literature has a fine edition of Flannery’s Collected Works, including her letters. This inexpensive, hardbound series with quality bookbinding is exceptional and I particularly appreciate the O’Connor volume.
