Deep in History

What does it mean to be deep in history? While today’s new man has ready access to extensive data, the historical task remains just as difficult unless one holds to the naive and radically wrong ‘history always repeats itself.’

Since history deals with unique events about which there is limited information, investigating the flow of those events gives insight into the events themselves. Further, our focus is not on change or even the winds of change but rather the shifting of the winds of change, as Dylan says.
